![]() I figure they are Nikon's temporary files and ignore them. I remember some who dislike the *.nksc files so much they deleted them. If it's only one or two I can use Ctrl + Z or Command + Z depending on which computer I'm using. ![]() If I make adjustments and change my mind I have to remember and undo all the adjustments. The reason I use NXD files is I have no control over the *.nksc side car files. You have to know the name and type or paste it in to open them. NX Studio will open *.NDX files that one can store edits applied in Capture NX-D in but the dialog to "Load adjustment" doesn't snow NXD files. Perhaps you are rushing to conclusions here! I have not seen any bugs so far, so what are you talking about? It works like NX-D, but just faster and it's much easier to view a large version of the image. Speedlight edited this topic 32 months ago. The transition from Capture NX-D to NX Studio will probably be faster for me than the one from Capture NX2 to Capture NX-D. It was probably pushed out too fast due to the new M1 chip in MAC(s). I think I'm going to like it when a few of the bug are removed. The new NX Studio looks like a late Alpha or Early Beta program. Anyone currently using Nikon's apps would seem to feel at home in this one as well. Seems like the natural next step in Nikon's editing software. The price is right! I've installed it and will add it to my collection of editing apps. I will play around with my D7000 and D750 files this weekend between kids tournaments. I like how it shows the size impact on the quality slider. I have successfully converted files to JPG though my AV program warned me of changes but I could add it to my whitelist of safe apps. I've added NX2, NX-D, Topaz Sharpen AI, Corel PS Pro 64 and After Shot. It allows you to search for the exe files so I added it that way. It found my 32-bit Corel PhotoShop but not the 64 bit. I don't like the software installed without asking where to put it (I load most programs on a separate HDD so my SSD with OS has more page file room. I've added my editing apps, most of them anyway via the Other App button (upper right hand corner). Parallel camera edited this topic 32 months ago. Well.nothing could convince me to use Adobe! I never felt a need for it! That even Affinity could not drag me away from Adobe's extortion scheme, and Satan knows I wanted to! I have no time to continue using it today, but I will when I come back! I don't do extensive editing that requires something else. (for newer camera only).īut overall, Studio NX does everything I need. So, I had to export a tiff and then open with NX-2. It's very much the same as trying to open a NEF directly with NX-2. I add it in the menu, but no tiff file is directly created by studio so the NEF is not recognized by NX-2, if the NEF was created by the newer cameras. The the tiff file is used to open it with NX-2. With NX-D you had the option of opening an image with Capture NX-2, (from NX-D) via NX-D created tiff file. I have installed and used it on some images. Lightroom and Photoshop are so good and so ahead and so seamless that even Affinity could not drag me away from Adobe's extortion scheme, and Satan knows I wanted to! I have downloaded it but not yet installed. Yes, I'll be waiting for the reviews on Youtube to know more on the features. ![]() The site states it works will ALL Nikon digitals from D1 to D780 and new Z. I just found, installing this will remove all versions of ViewNX (ViewNX, ViewNX2, ViewNX-i) during install. Is it "more" or "less" featured than NX-D? Recently I cannot convert D750 images from NEF to JPG in either View NX or Capture NX-D as I always get an error message of another application has the image open.įrom the announcement email I just got on this it sounds like NX Studio might replace the 2 other apps? Hopefully it will be a true editing package and not just a fancy NEF to JPG converter with crop, lighting, and control point adjustments.
